Howdy all, this blog is a little over due and I have lots to catch you all up on. Let me start by introducing myself and my family. I am Mallory, photographer and owner of Mallory Reid Photography. I am happily married to my husband, Frank, of almost 10 years now, we have a 7 year old daughter, Josie, and a 5 year old son Cooper. DSC_6064

Frank grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee while I am from Bigfork Montana. We met, strangely enough through my dad and older sister when he was working in Montana and Wyoming. After dating long distance briefly I moved  to Tennessee the summer of 2006. We got married in 2008, welcomed our daughter Josie into the world January 2011 and our son Cooper in March of 2013.

My husband made a career change in 2011, the new job meant a transfer to San Jose, California. And thus began our crazy life of Adventure!

Life with a newborn, with a brand job, and living in a brand new state had its ups and downs. It was’t just the three of us though, we also had our 3 dogs in tow. Fiona, Steve, and Merle. Here we are taking in the Grand Canyon on our drive out.

I had never dreamed of living in California and soon fell in love with the Bay Area. There was so much to see and so many places to go. The beach became our new favorite activity, it would tire Josie out and fulfill my need to be outside. I quickly made it my mission to become familiar with the surrounding areas, beaches, hiking trails and open space preserves. California has no shortage of outdoor activities. Once I get caught up, I will post about my favorite Bay Area Activities

Wild child in Big Sur

Cooper was born in March 2013.

Josie loved dotting on her little brother. She was and still is a helpful big sister.

As if having a new born and toddler wasn’t enough to keep me busy I decided to branch out and officially start Mallory Reid Photography. Being a photographer had always been a dream of mine, but I had never quite had the focus or the subjects until now. I found such joy in capturing my kids in photographs. I still will sit and stare at photos of them in amazement. Luckily for me, I have been able to merge my love of the outdoors and photography into my dream job. My idea is for this blog to follow my families adventure and share tips, travels, and trails to others. Hope you enjoy our journeys!
